2012 BMW M5 revealed on the internet

Official photos of the 2012 BMW M5 have been “leaked” onto the Internet, possibly intentionally, and it looks just like how anyone would’ve pictured the new M5 would look, so there aren’t any real surprises.

The “F10” M5 gets enlarged air intakes in the unique front bumper, four exhaust tips in the unique rear bumper and 20-inch wheels with Z-rated tyres, as well as tacked-on vents on the front fenders.

The 2012 BMW M5 also loses the 507 hp V10, now replaced with a 552 hp twin-turbo V8, just like in the X5 M, with torque increasing from the V10’s 383 pound-feet to 501 lb-ft now. The new M5 is supposedly capable of 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds. That’ll route to the rear wheels via a standard 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, though a proper 6-speed maanual will reportedly be available here in the United States.

The cost of entry is rumored to be around €100,000 in Germany – about $144,000 based on current exchange rates. We’re sure the actual U.S. price won’t be anywhere near that high.
