Vettel wins 2009 Japanese F1 Grand Prix

Video of Formula 2 racer’s unfortunate accident

Sometimes death can come in the most unexpected ways. This unfortunate accident in a Formula 2 race led to the death of 18-year-old driver Henry Surtees, after the tyre from an earlier crash hit him on the head, rendering him unconscious with his foot on the accelerator. Major F1 teams create own FOTA breakaway championship

The Formula One Teams’ Association, better known as FOTA, announced on June 19 that it is setting up a breakaway championship. Following a four-hour meeting at Renault’s Enstone factory, the eight members of FOTA, namely Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW Sauber, Toyota, Brawn, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso, said they had grown frustrated with the FIA’s stance on new rules for 2010, and had no option but to create a series of their own. Brawn GP wins again at Malaysian F1 GP

Jenson Button made it two wins in a row after he won the rain-shortened Malaysian F1 GP. A rain storm caused the race to be red-flagged, and then there was not enough daylight left to allow it to continue.
