Mitsubishi has outlined the changes to its 2011 Eclipse, which include a $1,700 price cut and a few added features for the base GS models. Pricing for the GS model with a five-speed manual transmission starts at $18,999 (does not include destination fee and taxes) and at $19,999 for the GS with a four-speed automatic.

These models cost $1,700 less than they did in 2010. Pricing remains unchanged for the next trim level, the GS-Sport ($24,699) and the top-of-the-line GT ($29,089). The manual transmission option is no longer offered for the Eclipse GT.

All 2011 Eclipses get black painted roofs, which the automaker says pays homage to the first generation Eclipse, and a reduced (0.6 inch) ride height for a more aggressive look and improved aerodynamics. GS models now come standard with new 18-inch alloy wheels (up from 17-inch wheels last year). Through the month of October, Mitsubishi is offering $1,000 cash back or low APR financing on 2011 Eclipses. Check with your local dealer for more information.
