2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec-C for Japan
Subaru has launched a new hardcore version of its famous Impreza STI model into their domestic market. Called Impreza WRX STI Spec-C, the car is tarted up with more power, less weight, modified drivetrain and suspension, upgraded braking package and also garnished by sporty features like bucket seats and special colors.
The 4-cylinder boxer engine in this Impreza uses upgraded turbocharges along with some software update for its ECU. The result is 304 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque from the 2.0L turbo.
Engineers have also improved its handling by a new differential system which gives more traction. They have also put the car on some serious diet to lose a couple of stones. it has aluminum hood, laminar window panels and even a downsized battery. The normal spare tire has been replaced with a repair kit.
Subaru Impreza Spec C has some unique visual factors to be distinguishable from other models. It features 19 inch wheels and comes with two new colors, Sunrise Yellow and Pure White. The brake discs are also painted in gold. Inside, you get Recaro seats and aluminum and alcantara trimming.
It’s a pity Subaru will make only 900 units of it, none of them earmarked for the United States.
