Future Releases

2009 Dodge Hornet
On Sale : Late 2008
This tiny yet tall new car will be Dodge's attempt at breaking into the subcompact segment. Currently, Dodge is trying to find a partner with whom to set up a joint venture. Dodge wants to pitch this car in Europe and Asia, so it is unclear whether it will come Staeside. The concept packs a 1.6L super-charged 4-cylinder with 170 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque.

2008 Ford Focus
On Sale : Fall 2007
While the world gets the Volvo/Mazda platform European Focus, the current Focus will linger on in the United States with a facelift until, according to insiders, it is replaced eventually by an improved model on a new platform. The decision has to do with cost and reliability issues, but Americans are getting the short straw yet again.

2007 Ford Shelby GT500KR
On Sale : Summer 2008
Ford has dropped the SVT and Mustang badges and instead added the Shelby and GT500 badges from the 1960s for its speedster. The Shelby's supercharged 5.4-liter, 32-valve V8 will now be pumped up to 540 hp and 510 lb-ft to revive the limited GT500KR badge. The car will still have upgraded parts and identified by intake vents on the hood.

2009 Lexus IS 460
On Sale : Fall 2008
The IS has undergone a full design change, and Lexus has been hinting at a V8 model for the past couple of years. The current 306 hp V6 IS 350 has lots of power, but the IS still needs a halo model. There may be plans for a convertible, possibly with a hard top. A future V8 model may have either the current Lexus 4.3L or a new 4.6L motor.

2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
On Sale : Summer 2007
Undergoing hot-weather testing in Dubai, the next C-Class will be a more sporting sedan to compete better in a crowded field. The engine choices might be a 190 hp 1.8L inline-four, a 210 hp 2.5L V6 and a 270 hp 3.5L V6. The AMG version will have a 400 hp 5.4L V8. An all-wheel-drive model as well as wagon versions will come later.

2008 Mini Clubman
On Sale : Late 2007
The Mini underwent its first radical makeover since it took on its modern new form in late 2006. With wraparound headlights and a flatter grille, it mixes new design elements with classic styling cues. A new variation to the theme is the longer Clubman wagon. Engines should still all be inline fours, with the S receiving a turbo version.
