VW Golf Estate debuts in Europe to not much fanfare

The latest version of the Volkswagen Golf doesn’t have the most attractive of faces, but VW thought they needed another challenge and added an uglier Estate wagon version to their European line-up.

In addition to sharing the VW Golf’s ugly new front-end, it also shares engines, among them a 102 hp 1.6L and that 160 hp twincharged 1.4L.

While the interior is similar to the Golf hatchback, cargo volume has increased, of course, at the expense of a balanced exterior profile. All models get six airbags, power windows, climate control and keyless entry.

The VW Golf Estate may come to the United States as a Jetta wagon, as the company wants to target the blind community.
