Tesla Roadster delivered to 500th customer

The Lotus-based Tesla Roadster, arguably the most famous electric car on sale today, has just hit its latest milestone with the delivery of the 500th Roadster.

The recipient is New Jersey’s Martin Tuchman, who is chairman of The Tuchman Foundation and a board member of The Parkinson’s Alliance and Parkinson’s Disease Foundation of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York. Tuchman is a car enthusiast, with gas-guzzling classics in his garage that include a 1967 Mercedes 250 and a 1993 Jaguar convertible. But Tuchman intends to make the Tesla his main commuter car.

To be even more green, Tuchman says he will use solar power to charge his new Roadster whenever possible.
