Rear-driven 2009 Hyundai Coupe exposed

hyundai-2.jpg

The current FWD Hyundai Coupe tries hard to look like a Ferrari, but pales in performance compared to rivals. This 2009 coupe aims to change that. It will most probably feature a new name, but the bigger deal is the new rear-wheel-drive chassis, the option of a turbo-4 or a bigger V6, and looks that thrill.

Well-placed sources suggest the engine choices for this rear-driver will be a 215 hp turbocharged inline-4 or a 300 hp V6. Now you know why it is parked next to a Ford Mustang at this closed-door marketing event where this photo was taken. Keep the price right and it will kill the competition.

  1. Good job Hyundai I hope the rumors of your quality improving are true. This car should put you on the top of the list for fun sports compact RWD cars. Also maybe this will wake up the now VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY BORING Japanese car lineup.
