Mercedes Benz shows GLK in concept form
Mercedes-Benz is preparing to offer a new compact softroader dubbed the GLK for 2009. To show it off early, Merc is displaying this lightly-disguised concept, called the Vision GLK Freeside, although there isn’t much here to show off with.
The “concept” includes a four-cylinder BLUETEC four-cylinder diesel and a 7-speed automatic, as well as 4Matic all-wheel-drive. No matter how it is marketed, do not take one of these on the rocks though. It is strictly a competitor for the BMW X3. The concept will debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show this month.
