The existing Mitsubishi Eclipse gets a facelift for the 2009 model year to make it look like the new Lancer Evolution. Except that the Evolution remains the true sports car of the range.

The front-wheel-drive Eclipse can be had with a 162 hp 2.4L four-cylinder mated to a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic, while a 265 hp 3.8L V6 is mated a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

Available in coupe or convertible form, options include HID headlights and stability control, among other items.

It should hit the roads by summer, if not sooner.

  1. Not bad on the new looks Mitsubishi. It still sucks you got rid of the 4g63 and made the car heavier with a heavy V6. What good is all the power in the 3.8 V6 when the car weighs 200-400lbs. more.(not quite sure on how much heavier it weighs than the 1st and 2nd Gen Eclipses. The real Eclipses)

    1. The thing is Mitsubishi has a cool design with the new Eclipse. It however needs to go on a diet.
    2. Add an option AWD
    3. Add an option that you could get the Lancer/Evo turbo engine in it.

Of course Mitsubishi will come up with bullshit excuses. Does anyone really want to hear them? Didn’t think so. Nice try Mitsubishi but you still suck in my book for destroying the Eclipse after the 2nd gen DSM and destroying the Evo after the 9th gen.
