Facelift for 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster
The Mercedes-Benz SLK has been facelifted for the 2009 model year. The tweaks include a front end in the style of an F1 car, while the rear gets edged tailpipes and a new bumper. The 2009 model also gets an updated interior with a new instrument panel design. Two new engines also join the line-up.
The two new heavily-revised engines which join the carryover AMG 5.5L V8 are a revised supercharged 4-cylinder producing 184 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque and a new 3.5L V6 producing 305 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Both engines also get better fuel economy and emit less pollutants. Transmission options include a five-speed automatic, a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic, depending on model.
There is also some sort of optional new all-mechanical variable steering system, as well as Bluetooth, iPod integration and voice-activated controls for the nav system.
