Audi RS5, A5 Sportback and new A8 all for 2009
Audi has announced a deluge of new models to appear for the first time in 2009.
The automaker’s chairman, Rupert Stadler, has confirmed that the RS5, which is a hardcore version of the A5 and S5, will be available in both coupe and convertible forms, and that the A5 Sportback will be out later this year. The Sportback is a four-door version of the A5 Coupe, and was shown in concept form at the 2009 Detroit Motor Show earlier this year.
The RS5 will apparently feature the 4.2L V8 found in the RS4 and the R8, and will put out around 450 hp.
Mr Stadler also confirmed that the next incarnation of the A8 would be released towards the end of 2009. He promised that the 2010 A8 will be the sportiest model in its segment and hyped up the quality of its interior.
