2010 Toyota Camry gets minor upgrade

The 2010 Toyota Camry, first shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show recently, has quietly received a minor facelift and a basic engine upgrade.
The 2010 Camry has upgraded to a new 2.5L 4-cylinder engine equipped with VVT-i variable valve timing. It produces 169 hp for basic Camry versions, and the sportier SE gets 179 hp to back up its sports suspension. A 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift are available. The 268 hp 3.5-litre V6 with automatic continues unchanged.

Exterior changes include a new grille and front bumper, an enlarged lower intake, larger headlights and restyled tail lamps. The base Camry gets restyled wheel covers, while the higher grades get 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, and the sporty SE gets new 17-inch wheels.

The Camry Hybrid, equipped with a petrol engine backed up by an electric motor, gets a completely unique front grille and bumper design.

Inside, the Camry is available with an optional audio system equipped with a new USB port for auxiliary music sources, Bluetooth, integrated satellite radio, single-CD, and MP3 and streaming music capability. All Camry models will now be equipped with stability control and traction control. Auto up/down power windows with jam protection on all four doors is standard equipment.
The 2010 Camry will go on sale in March.
