2009 Acura RL breaks cover at Chicago

The 2008 Chicago Auto Show played host to the 2009 Acura RL. The anonymous-looking current RL will soon be replaced by this one, while other Acura models will get this new nose.

The new model is essentially just a facelift, with a new front and rear end. Even the interior remains the same, with a few unnoticeable changes. However, the engine has been upgraded, with the new 300 hp 3.7L V6 benefitting from 271 lb-ft of torque. The Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system has also been reprogrammed to send more torque to the rear wheels in certain cases, as well as respond faster to changing conditions.

The facelift was done to make the car stand out more, although we are not sure this new styling direction is a success either.
